The Midwestern Native Garden Redesign
Publication Design
I discovered The Midwestern Native Garden at the library, and while the content was extremely useful, I experienced some pain points with the design. The pages are often crowded with a plethora of content and (sometimes low-resolution) images, which makes the book hard to use efficiently. I challenged myself to redesign it in a way that made it more user-friendly while maintaining the specifications of the original — dimensions, soft cover, and 4-color cover and interior. My redesign has more white space, color-coded chapters, a strong sense of hierarchy through typography, and consistency in page layout and content placement.
